Programs Weekly Schedule of Classes
The
The Airport Health Club has a variety of programs designed
specifically for our 50+ members. They include exercise
classes, monthly
dinner socials, drop-in hour, monthly
hikes,
circuit classes, lectures, aqua-aerobics, etc. Lori
Ennis is our 50+
Program Coordinator, she continually develops
and implements new programs.
The Airport Health Club's
50+ Program was named 3rd in the
Nation. Wow! This was a competition among all clubs worldwide
that belong to IHRSA. IHRSA (International Health, Racquet
and Sports Club Association) is a not-for-profit trade
association representing
more that 3,500 Health and Sports Clubs. It is the largest
club association in the world.
50 PLUS ACTIVITY CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
All
of the below classes are selected to be appropriate for
our 50+ population. For more information, call Lori

AQUA AEROBICS: A
low-impact / no-impact cardiovascular workout using large
movements for each body parts full
range of motion, to strengthen, firm and to encourage
full body flexibility. Aqua fitness equipment is optional.

BEGINNING SPIN: An Intro level cycling class that is
great for folks who are just getting started!
50+ STRENGTH CIRCUIT: A group exercise that promotes
muscular strength and endurance. Strength training machines,
dumbbells, stretch cords, and balance equipment are used.
 LIGHT & EASY: Light intensity aerobics designed
to appeal to the first time exerciser. Music and rhythm
is modified for the participants in order to get a full
body workout including 20-30 minutes of cardiovascular
exercise, 15 minutes of muscular strength, and stretching.
MORNING STEP / PRE/POST
NATAL: This is a Step class
with muscular strength & endurance conditioning.
The pace is geared towards beginning steppers and pre & postnatal
women, also great for new members that would like an
easygoing class to begin with.
FLEXIBILITY IN MOVEMENT: A
gentle exercise class that promotes flexibility for all
people. Especially designed for those just starting a
exercise program, a fit person that needs better flexibility,
anyone with arthritis, autoimmune diseases, recovering
from stroke, surgery or cancer.
PILATES: Joseph H. Pilates (pi-LAH-tees) created a unique
fitness method of mind/body conditioning in the 1920’s.
A blend of Eastern & Western concepts of exercise
and breath control, the Pilates method emphasizes abdominal
strength and core stability while balancing the rest
of the body.
YOGA: A series of poses and postures that focus on alignment,
strength building, flexibility and balance in body and
mind.
