The Human Race – May 10

The Cancer Wellness Program would greatly benefit from our members knowing they can make a difference in someone’s recovery. The Airport Health Club’s Cancer Wellness Program is a free ten week group exercise program for individuals in Sonoma County who are recovering from cancer, and currently the only health club in Northern California to sponsor such a program.

Personal Trainers Linda Illsley and Lori Ennis have been leading this program since 2002, and to date have helped hundreds of people take charge of their recovery and wellness through this program. These participants realize improved fitness, reduced need for painkillers, better sleep and an overall sense that they are able to overcome the fear and anxiety of cancer.

The Cancer Wellness Program is sponsored by The Airport Health Club and volunteer donations raised during The Human Race. The Volunteer Center of Sonoma County holds this annual community event to help area non-profits raise money to run their charitable programs.

The Human Race on Saturday May 10 features a 3k and 10k run and walk through Howarth and Spring Lake Parks, rain or shine. Keep an eye out for our flyers and sign up to be part of our Team! Your participation by joining or creating a Team, collecting donations and getting in shape for the “Race” will be a “win-win” for you and someone who needs this program.

Contact Lori at 521-2443 or lorie [at] airportclub [dot] com or Linda at 328-1647 or Lindai [at] airportclub [dot] com for more information.
